Mebane, N.C. — A spokesperson from Orange County confirms three people, including one child, were injured when shots were fired into their car on a road running parallel to Interstate 85, close to Mebane.
The shooting was reported Wednesday before 8 a.m. in the northwest corner of Orange County.
Officials said the three people arrived at UNC Hospital in Hillsborough in their own car, which had bullet holes and a smoking engine. All three had gunshot wounds, officials said.
Two of the victims were transferred to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
