Clayton vape store employee shot during fight with customer; police asking for help identifying suspect ::

— A fight between a vape store employee and a customer led to a shooting in Clayton on Sunday.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. at Vape and Tobacco World on U.S. Highway 70 Business.

The owner of the store, who asked not to be identified by WRAL News, said a customer came in and demanded a refund. The store’s employee refused and got into a fight with the customer.

Police asking for help identifying suspect in Clayton vape store shooting

That’s when the owner said the customer pulled out a gun and shot the employee. The employee was taken to WakeMed with serious injuries.

Police said the man was last seen driving east on Highway 70 in a dark-colored Toyota Camry.
