Winter wonderlands built by people like Jeff and Russell who spend days transforming their Henderson neighborhood.
“Are you smiling right now? That’s why we do it,” Jeff said.
“It’s just fun to set it up it’s fun to see the cars drive-by kids smiling saying thank you,” Russell said.
That is why Lexie Solis and Amanda Neff developed this interactive Holiday Lights Map.
“It’s a family tradition of my own we always go out to see Christmas lights every year,” Lexie said.
Their goal is to make sure these hidden gems are not so hidden.
“The major question we get from a lot of parents around this time of year is what neighborhood do we go to see the lights,” Amanda said.
The map is simple to navigate.
Zoom into an area you want to check out, click on of the tree icons then get in you car and go.
Possibly to Jeff’s house or perhaps you prefer Russell’s
If you see a home worthy of attention including your own you can take a picture and upload it to the map.
Amanda and Lexie determine which ones make the cut.
“We’re looking for our homes that are decorated extravagant is best but if not that’s OK we love homes that are in clusters,” Amanda said.
The Holiday Lights map already has more than 130,000 views on their Facebook page Parents of Las Vegas and Henderson.

You might think this is just a celebration of all things Christmas, but really it is much more than that. This is for everyone of all faiths for all different backgrounds. For example one house lit up for Hanukkah. The rules here are simple, no matter your faith or your background if you want to light up your house and celebrate you could be featured and be a part of it.
“It brings me joy to see the community coming together,” Lexie said.
The map may be here just in time as families struggle to find safe ways to celebrate the holidays in the time of covid.
“People need it right now they are looking for something that makes them happy. It’s hard not to smile,” Jeff said.
Hard not to smile indeed.
