Set the clocks straight! Nikki Bella clarified it and Artem Chigvintsevit is marital status after rumors started circulating that the pair were not legally married following their August 2022 wedding in Paris, France.
“We are legally married in France and in the United States,” said the Total Bellas star, 39, said We Weekly on Tuesday, January 24, before the premiere of Nikki Bella says yes. “I think because we have our [marriage records] confidential… people went looking and they couldn’t find it.
Nikki, who also legally took Artem’s last name, assured that their union was “official” on “paper, on TV and in real life!” Their marriage took place two years after the Incomparable the author gave birth to their son Matteoin July 2020.
Walking down the aisle was a big deal for the couple, and Nikki actually wore the dress she chose for her wedding with her ex-fiancé John Cena. She couldn’t wear it after WWE stars final split in July 2018and she defended her decision to start over on her big day with Artem.
” For me, it’s [reflects] how i stand as a strong woman i was like expecting why shouldn’t i wear what i like? Because of my past? It didn’t make sense to me,” she said, explaining that she had a “moment” with the dress and “dreamed” of wearing it.
As for her Artem, 40, he was ‘cool with it’ and Nikki joked that he ‘probably wanted me to save some money’.
For his part, the Dancing with the stars pro said he didn’t think his choice of dress was “that important” and “dismissed” the question when Nikki initially brought up the subject, which surprised him even more at the strong fan reaction.
“I think [if there’s] one problem with that, they bring another energy into our happiness,” the Russian native said. “Why would we even waste time talking about it… I didn’t mind at all.”
The couple started dating in January 2019, six months after they split from John, 45. Peacemaker star also evolved and married wife Shay Shariatzadeh in October 2020.
Nikki and Artem wasted no time either. They got engaged in January 2020, six months before welcoming their son, but had to keep delaying their wedding in California amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The newlyweds are thrilled with their “amazing” new chapter.
“What I love is that it officially makes us family,” Nikki said. “We’ve kind of lived married life before, and because we have Matteo, we already share life, but it’s pretty neat. I guess that’s more true for me because my last name is different Now I’m Nicole Chigvintsev, and it’s been a huge change for me.
