We’re hours away from a brand new episode of “Engage or Leave” and we’re so excited because it’s actually an Atlanta couple we know AND LOVE! Our friend Shyneka who is an accomplished radio personality and her boo Correy are featured in the new episode of “Engage or Leave” and we had the chance to talk to them before the episode.

“We met in 1999 through my mother,” Shyneka told BOSSIP. “My mother gave him my phone number, which horrified me, but when I met him I was pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, I had started my career in radio and I was really focused We played tag team over the years, he ended up going back to North Carolina where he’s from and we used to see each other sometimes. He once showed up at a club where I was when I had a whole fiancé at that time and I introduced them to each other and sat them next to each other and went on my way.

“She was a little player back then,” Correy quipped. “But she had a lot of courage to trust her mother and give me a chance.”

While Shyneka says she remembers Correy always being cool, due to his busy schedule, things between them didn’t initially take off. Correy then became the father of fraternal twins (who turn 13 this week) from another relationship. Ultimately, Shyneka says it was social media that brought them together.

“He saw me on social media and he swiped into my DMs,” Shyneka recalled.

“Yes ma’am!” Correy burst out laughing.

At the time, Shyneka says she was in the car with her best friend Eva Marcille, who told her to invite Correy to join them and her husband Mike Sterling for a night out at Top Golf. While Shyneka was initially hesitant about asking a man out, she gave in to Eva’s idea, deciding that while she really wasn’t looking to date her, she was open to a friendship.

“I basically hit the lottery that day,” Correy told BOSSIP.

To make matters even more complicated, Shyneka hadn’t told Correy that her friend “E” was actress and model Eva Marcille, which makes Correy, who was an hour late after having to drive an hour south. from Atlanta to Alpharetta, even more nervous about her chance to reconnect.

“He was already nervous but when he walked into Top Golf and found out I was with Eva, he was even more nervous,” Shyneka laughs. “We have literally been together since that date at Top Golf.

“Lights, parking lot, they closed the club to us, we were still there,” Correy recalled.

The couple say that after friends approached them about participating in “Commit or Quit,” they were initially opposed to doing the reality show.

“When they asked us to do it he said, ‘I’m not trying to be in any drama with you, we have no problem, I mean you have this and the third,'” a Shyneka told BOSSIP. “And I said, ‘Well, you have this and the third! So, it was like we guessed we were in trouble.

“Please help me, please help me!” Correy joked.
