representing George Santos is really (we think) flattered that he reminds people Leonardo DiCaprioThe “Catch Me If You Can” character – but he’s hooked on the Leo thing, not the compulsive, doomed liar part!!!
File this hilarious clip under ‘Ya Missed the Point’ – but we caught the embattled New York congressman on Wednesday morning on Capitol Hill… where our photographer asked if he’d seen the Leo and tom hank movie about the infamous con man, Franck Abganale.
Santos claims he did not see the Steven Spielberg-directed film in which Leo portrays Frank making his way through life – posing as an airline pilot, doctor, teacher and prosecutor.
Perhaps not shockingly, Santos tells us he’s ‘flattered’ to be compared to Leo… but is totally unaware of the real reason people draw the parallel. You know, the lies upon lies upon lies part!!!
The congressman hung on to something else besides Leo’s looks, saying he wished he had the actor’s bank account. Of course, chances are he’s already told someone he’s doing it!
BACKGROUND GRID
In the film, Leo’s character is taken at the end… and Santos has already been caught in more than a few lies. Besides his resume full of lies, he recently admitted he had a drag alter ego in his youth in Brazil… after first deny he.

As for a movie on its lie-filled path to Congress — it doesn’t look like it’s ready to sell the rights. Someone should tell Georgie it doesn’t work that way – if nothing else, it’s a lifetime movie waiting to happen!!!
