Greer Blitzer apologizes for resurfaced tweets in which she defended someone wearing a blackface costume. The single person star, who recently won The Bachelor’s First Impression Rose Zach Shallcrosstook him instagram history of admitting his misdeeds in previous tweets and taking responsibility for his actions.
“The journey to love is filled with lessons and those lessons are also made on our journey of growth. In my past, I have made uneducated, ignorant, and downright misleading comments on my social media accounts,” a- she writes in the message, which can be seen here. “In particular, I used flawed arguments on Twitter to defend a student who dressed in Blackface as Tupac for Halloween.”
“I am deeply sorry to those I hurt, especially those in the black community, not because those screenshots resurfaced, but because I never shared those hurtful opinions,” he said. – she continued. “Time and age don’t excuse my actions, but it doesn’t reflect who I am today.”
Greer’s apology comes three months after a Reddit user shared screenshot of her supporting a teenager who was criticized for wearing blackface to a party. “The students involved didn’t even know what blackface was, so that’s exactly what I meant. It wasn’t an intentional racist act,” she allegedly wrote in a tweet at the time.
Another of his alleged tweets read: “This previous incident was stupid, not racist? She didn’t paint herself black because she felt superior to black people,” and she later added, “Put white powder on your face isn’t okay either. That didn’t make the news, did it? I apologize if this offended you, but you have to understand that initially it was not meant to be perceived that way at all.
Grier has been in the spotlight ever since she appeared on The single personit is last season. After Zach gave him the First Impression Rose, he explained the reason he decided to do it, in an interview on the Everyday Podcast. “With Greer, she had this calming effect on me. I’m back at the mansion and there’s the cameras and I’m meeting 30 new women, and that’s a lot to take in,” he said. “And so when you meet someone who can provide that level of comfort and allow you to not be so caught up in your head – it was very relaxed with her.”
