Hilary Duf opens with the struggles of his adolescence.
In an interview with Women’s Health Australia, which was posted on Sunday, the actress opened up about the pressure she felt as a child star – particularly around her body image:
“Because of my career path, I can’t help but say, ‘I’m on camera and actresses are skinny.’ It was horrible.
Hilary suffered from an eating disorder for a year when she was 17 and struggled outside of it with body image issues for years. The pressure she felt to conform to unrealistic body standards was so overwhelming that she began to place her body image above her health.

Now 35, she was a children’s TV superstar, playing the beloved character Lizzie McGuire on a show of the same name before she even turned 18. disney channel it-girl for many years, but now that she is older she is changing her view of fame and the way it treats itself.
The how i met your father The star tells the interviewer that she has surrounded herself with positivity and like-minded people:
“[I’m] enjoying my health, doing activities that make me feel strong instead of just improving the outside of my body. Spending time with people who make me feel good and share similar views on health and body positivity and getting enough sleep and balancing my diet.
We are so happy that Hil is leading her healthiest and happiest life! This isn’t the first time she’s spoken out about body positivity, either. In May, the actress showed off her body in a nude photo shoot for W.H.‘s Body Issue. At the time, she shared how proud she was of herself and her body:
“I am proud of my body. I am proud that he gave me three children. I have come to a place where I am at peace with the changes my body has been through. I also want people to know that a makeup artist was there to shine all over my body and someone put me in the most flattering position.

According to personal trainer Dominique Leder via the magazine, while health is important to the mom of three, her family always comes first!
It’s amazing to hear how far Hilary has come and how she has grown. We can’t wait to see what she has planned for the future!
