“We as family have decided not to be divided anymore,” the 19-year-old singer wrote via Instagram on Friday, August 5, after turning off all comments on the post. “There’s a lot more to the story than what you saw on the show. Although we understand this is a TV show and we don’t control [of] how the show is edited, we are actually a family full of love and respect for each other.

Moriah’s social media statement follows a heated conversation between her and her brother Micah Plath and his sister-in-law Olivia Plath in the Tuesday, August 2 episode. During the exchange, Olivia, who is married to Ethan Plathexplained to the siblings that she was working to mend relationships with members of the Plath family — except for their mother, Kim.

“I don’t want to be forced into relationships that aren’t good for me,” she explained to Micah during the scene. “You and Moriah chose differently from me and that’s fine. And I just want it to be okay for me to choose different too.

“I want to understand why Olivia doesn’t love my parents,” Micah told producers in a confessional alongside her sister. “And why is it taking her so long to get over what hurt her… But at this point, it’s like, well, you’re blocking your husband from seeing his parents, or trying to.”

In a solo confessional, Olivia opened up about her past relationship with the matriarch and revealed over time that she was starting to feel “used”.

“I trusted her more than my own mother and at that point in my life I really, really needed a mother figure,” Olivia revealed before detailing a stark change. “I’ll never forget marrying a 20-year-old man whose mother used his credit card and bought things for herself and didn’t pay him back, and I look at him and say, ‘Why? “”

In Moriah’s IG statement, the CCM the actor hit the stage and slammed the TLC edit in the process.
