Angie Katsanevas shared a statement with her fans and followers on Instagram on Tuesday night after she was seen posing for a photo with a man wearing a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt.
As fans reacted with outrage at the attacking outfit, which mocked the Black Lives Matter Movementand even asked cancellation of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake Citythe “friend” series insisted that they ignored the tagline as his old friend and castmate, Jen Shahcalled him.
“I had no knowledge of the message on the back of the shirt worn by the man I posed with for a picture,” Angie wrote on her Instagram Story on January 24. “The original photo was taken from the front. I do not endorse or support this message. If I had known the disturbing message was on his back, I would never have agreed to take a photo with him. I reject racism in all its forms. I stand and will always stand for diversity and inclusion.
Angie’s statement came hours after she was caught taking a picture with the man.
“Angie K. is really here parading her ‘White Lives Matter’ friends without any shame… REMOVE HER FROM MY SHOW!” read a tweet shared by a real housewives fanpage.
Immediately after Angie’s statement, Jen shared her own post on her Instagram Story, promoting the “Black Lives Matter” movement, which takes a stand against racism and police brutality.
At that time, a fan page called Reality Witch took note of Jen’s statement against Angie.
“[Angie Katsanevas] explained with this beautiful story. And I’m not kidding, Jen’s story was right after hers,” they shared.
And after the page also said that Jen “continues to weaponize racism”, Angie reposted the post.
But Jen continued to hit back, adding an additional post to her Instagram Story that appeared to be calling on Bravo to fire Angie from RHOSLC.
“The girl’s colors show. how you gonna act [Bravo]?” the message read.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season three reunion starts tonight, January 25, at 8/7c on Bravo.
