KYIV. June 23. UNN. The Lychakiv District Court of Lviv has closed the case on charges against People’s Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk for treason and looting of national values. About this UNN reports with reference to “Public”.


“The preparatory hearing is taking place in Lychakiv District Court. Viktor Medvedchuk faces up to 15 years in prison,” the statement said.


It was noted that the meetings will be held behind closed doors at all stages.


In June reportedthat the State Bureau of Investigation has completed the investigation into the treason against Viktor Medvedchuk.

In April 2022, Lychakiv District Court of Lviv sent Viktor Medvedchuk is in custody.

In June, the court continued arrest of Medvedchuk until August 9.


Medvedchuk was informed about the suspicion of committing criminal offenses under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 111 and Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. On January 10, 2022, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv imposed a precautionary measure on Medvedchuk in the form of house arrest with a ban on leaving his home around the clock. At the same time, on February 26, police officers discovered Medvedchuk’s absence from his place of residence.

After that, he was declared wanted by the state, interstate and international. On March 18, he was arrested in absentia without bail.

After Medvedchuk’s detention, the court also arrested 154 more objects of movable and immovable property of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk and his wife Oksana Marchenko and others.
