KYIV. September 23. UNN. The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Burbok, after the meeting of the “Simka” ministers in New York, stated that the G7 countries do not recognize the so-called referendums on the occupied territories of Ukraine. It informs UNN with reference to Radio Liberty.
“The G7 Foreign Ministers and the High Representative of the European Union strongly condemn the statement of Russia’s intention to hold fictitious referendums on the sovereign territory of Ukraine, which is temporarily under the control of Russia. Any referendums held under conditions of Russian military presence, intimidation and forced deportation cannot be free or fair,” said the statement following the meeting.
According to Burbok, the pressure on Russia will continue, in particular, new ones are possible sanctions in the event of holding referendums that violate the norms of international law and the UN Charter. Earlier it became known that the European Union plans to develop the eighth package of sanctions against Russia due to the aggressive war in Ukraine.
