KYIV. January 25. UNN. The US Department of Defense has published a complete list of a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth $400 million. In particular, it is reported that the purchase of 31 Abrams tanks will take place with the help of the Ukrainian Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) to support the defense of Ukraine against Russian aggression, reports UNN.

“This package of USAI measures underscores the continued commitment of the United States to building the capacity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine now and in the future… This USAI package worth $400 million marks the beginning of the contracting process to provide additional capabilities to Ukraine,” the statement said.

The new package of military aid to Ukraine will include:
- 31 Abrams tanks with 120-mm shells and other ammunition;
- Eight tactical vehicles for equipment recovery;
- Auxiliary vehicles and equipment;
- Funding for training, maintenance and support.
The Pentagon reports that in addition to the Abrams tank battalion provided by the United States, the European consortium is committed to providing Ukraine with two Leopard tank battalions in the near future.
In total, since the beginning of the Biden administration, the United States has allocated more than $27.8 billion in security assistance to Ukraine. The United States has given Ukraine more than $29.9 billion in security assistance since 2014, and more than $27.1 billion since the start of a full-scale Russian invasion on February 24, 2022.
