KYIV. September 24. UNN. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu spoke for the abolition of the right of “veto” in the system of the UN Security Council. It is reported UNN with reference to Anadoly Agency.
The minister emphasized that the majority of UN member states agree with the idea of reforming the world organization.
According to Çavuşoğlu, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s call to reform the UN is supported by more and more world leaders, and the current session of the UN General Assembly has proven this.
“More and more politicians are declaring that the world is more than five permanent members of the UN Security Council. The main thing in this matter is to ensure maximum coverage and justice,” Çavuşoğlu emphasized.
He said that the “veto” right can be replaced by “majority of votes”.

The right of veto allows the permanent members of the RB to reject the project of any meaningful UN resolutions, regardless of the level of support enjoyed by this project. Russia also has such a right of veto.
