MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — One local restaurant offered a traditional Thanksgiving meal for people looking to avoid the kitchen on Thursday.
“This was what was open, and when we pulled up, we were amazed at how many cars were there. It was crazy,” Illinois resident Bridget Lucius said about her first impression of Coach’s Pub N’ Grill on S. 13th Street.
The restaurant, open every year on the holiday, had its full menu and a special one with all the Thanksgiving classics.
“Oh my gosh, everything was fantastic. The turkey, the stuffing, the mashed potatoes, the couple of beers. Everything was fantastic,” Brookfield resident Rob Smith said. “It just relieves all the stress because, you know, no one is preparing anything. It’s really just wake up, take a shower and go have dinner. It’s the best thing ever!”
For employees, being able to participate in holiday festivities with customers is nice.
“Every year it’s just so fun, and you get to serve people who say they don’t want to cook, or they want to spend more time speaking with their family,” Coach’s Pub & Grill Server Olivia Maier said. “You see friendly faces, and you say, ‘Happy Thanksgiving,’ and they say it back to you. It’s really nice.”.
